Corpus Christi – Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline is proud to announce that it has received the “Medal of Honor for Organ Donation” from the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
The honor has been awarded to the hospital for achieving and sustaining national goals for donation, including a donation rate of 75 percent or more for eligible donors. Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline is one of 428 hospitals in the United States to earn this award.
The Southwest Transplant Alliance presented the award to Frank Pommett, vice president and chief operating officer for Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline, on Thursday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Spohn Shoreline cafeteria.
Christus Spohn Health System is the region’s largest charity care provider and not-for-profit health care system consisting of six hospital campuses - Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi (Shoreline, Memorial and South), Christus Spohn Hospital Alice, Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville and Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg (Kingsville).
