I, Jessica Blaschke, am a candidate for the office of school trustee, Place 7, for the Woodsboro Independent School District. With this entrusted office, I understand its responsibilities and will recognize the wishes of the public.
As an unbiased member, I would work to bring a continuing quality of community leadership needed for our school district.
I attended Woodsboro schools and graduated in 1997. In 2005, I graduated from the Coastal Bend College Nursing program. I am currently employed with Legacy Home Health and Hospice and work as a nurse and patient care coordinator.
I have been employed with Legacy for the past four years, which has been a very tasking and rewarding job.
I am a proud single mother of two wonderful children, Hunter, 10, and Hannah, 7. They attend Woodsboro Elementary where they are obtaining a solid foundation for a quality education.
Hunter has received commended performance on his reading and math portions of the state standardized TAKS test. Hannah is in the gifted and talented program and has been recognized as a top reader.
Personally as a parent, a quality education is as important as providing that child with a good name. It is up to the parents to instill in their children the importance of education and that there is a mutual and rewarding relationship between academics and sports.
With your support, I would like to get more involved in our community and, in particular, in the education of our youth. Thank you.
