The annual community Thanksgiving service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at First United Methodist Church in George West.
Giving thanks as a Christian community has been a tradition through the years, with local churches participating in the service.
This year the speaker for the service will be provided by First Baptist Church, with ministers from area churches participating in the program. Inspiring music of Thanksgiving will be brought by soloists and choirs from each of the participating churches.
“We hope everyone in the community will join us at this special service held in keeping with the historic tradition of giving thanks for all our blessings,” the Rev. Doug Hinchcliff, minister of First UMC, said.
