Rotary Club joins library to provide ‘Baby’s First Book’

The Rotary International Club of Beeville meets at noon on Wednesdays at the Beeville Country Club.

Guest speakers for the month of November were Leticia Munoz, chairwoman for the Miss Western Week Scholarship pageant; Miss Western Week, Allison Marie Porter; Miss Teen Western Week, Angelika Marie Benavidez; Jim Bob Mickler of the Texas Veteran Land Board of Austin; and Barbara Welder, who spoke about The Rialto Theater.

Guests during the month were Dr. Vaughan, OB, of Corpus Christi; Tim Skaife, radiology program director at Coastal Bend College; Charity Franco of the Juvenile Probation Department; Patty Dobson; and Malika Hennies of the Rotary Exchange Student program.

Rotary members volunteered for food bank distribution at the First Baptist and First United Methodist churches.

The Rotary Club of Beeville and the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library have joined together to provide “Baby’s First Book.” New and gently used books will be accepted to next year’s program through any Rotary Club member of by dropping off books at either Edward Jones location.
