Leandro Ruiz Lozano, 84, of Refugio, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008. He was a Veteran of WWII and an auto mechanic.

He was born Aug. 28, 1924, in Skidmore.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Roman Lozano and one son, Leandro Lozano Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Julia R. Lozano of Refugio; three daughters and their spouses, Theresa and Jessie Flores, Irene and Rene Lozano, all of Refugio, Catherine Lozano and Deirdre of Copperas Cove; one son and his wife, Ray and Yolanda Lozano of McAllen; one sister, Irene Vanegas of San Juan; one brother, Isarel and Mazey Lozano of DeWitt, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10 at St. James Catholic Church.

Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Oscar Lerma, Marc Flores, Matthew Lozano, Alex Rice, Richard Cantu and Roland Cantu.

Honorary pallbearers were Romulo Anzaldua, Henry Cisneros, John Lara, Patrick Rocha, Larry Rocha, Ruben Rocha and Raymond Ponce.
