Celebrate Christmas with the Refugio County Jamboree Tuesday, Dec. 23. The show will get underway at 7:30 p.m. at the Refugio County Community Center.

Special guests will include Al Nelson, Brenda Green and Johnny Marek, all of Corpus Christi; Marsha McNorton of Mission Valley; and the Jamboree Band.

Al Nelson is a top notch drummer and singer who sings in the Ray Price style and plays in the Big Band style.

“He is a great drummer and he has a wonderful voice that will impress the audience,” said Rick Faircloth, show organizer.

Johnny Marek has been playing in local bands for years. Marsha McNorton is new to the Opry scene.

“She may be new but she gets up on stage and performs like a pro,” Faircloth said.

She and her husband live in a little community between Victoria and Myersville called Mission Valley, and she’s sure to become a regular on the country music scene soon, Faircloth said.

This month’s show is being held on Tuesday because of Christmas; however, in January, the show will return to the fourth Thursday of each month.

Admission is $4 per person. For more information contact Rick at 361-293-5887 or Refugio Chamber of Commerce at 526-2835.
