Melody Murphy, a member of the Victoria Ballet Theatre Junior Company, visited with third graders at Austwell-Tivoli Dec. 8, prior to the students attending the Nutcracker on Friday,

Melody, a sixth grader at Crain Middle School in Victoria, was accompanied to Tivoli by her mother, Julie Ann Murphy.

Melody came dressed in full costume. The students got an inside look at the work and practice it takes to put the Nutcracker together for a public performance.

Victoria Ballet Theatre, a nonprofit organization, provides dance arts to the community. Julie Ann Murphy said her daughter channels her energy productively through dance and encouraged the students to audition for future productions.
