The Community Cemetery Association has put together a host of activities and entertainment for its sixth annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 18 and 19.

The two-day celebration will kickoff with a teen dance on Friday at the Expo Center from 7 to 11 p.m. with DJ Cliff Smith and featuring rap group, Mania Boys.

Opening ceremonies will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Mayor Ray Jaso. Lois Shaw will be guest speaker along with gospel singing, a skit performed by Joy Ministries Youth, and a Jazz bad featuring Jessie Dickerson of Refugio.

In addition to the guest speaker and live music, this year’s Juneteenth Celebration will include a cake walk, watermelon eating contest, domino tournament, spade tournament, silent auction and several other kids activities.
