Maxine Elizabeth Riley of Bayside died on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008.

Maxine Riley was a member of Portland North Bay Church of Christ; a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxillary of VFW,; Brownwood Civic Association, the Bayside City Council, missionary to Poland, and a nurses’ aide.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles A. “Bill” Riley, and her parents, Glenn and Sallie Derrough.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Romine of Decatur, and “Billie” Campbell of Wichita Falls; one sister, Neoma “Suggie” Touchet of Cypress; one brother, J.D. Derrough of Bayside; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A visitation was held on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Aransas Pass from 6 until 7 p.m.. A graveside service was conducted on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 3 p.m. at the Old St. Mary’s cemetery in Bayside.
