Santiago “Lapo” Longoria Resendez, 77, of Refugio, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 in Victoria.

He was a oilfield truck driver.

He was born July 24, 1933 in McFaddin, to Santiago and Adela Longoria Resendez.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Adelia Sanchez Resendez of Refugio; four daughters, Mary Linda Resendez Rodriguez of Victoria, Diana Resendez of San Antonio, Janie Resendez Ludwick of Refugio and Mary Elaine Resendez of Corpus Christi; three sons, Pete Reyes Resendez of Refugio, Reyes Resendez of Refugio and John Leo Resendez of Victoria; two step-sons, Jesse Villarreal of Refugio and Joe Villarreal of Edinburg; four sisters, Maria Lerma of Refugio, Lydia Canales of Refugio, Dolores Cantu of San Antonio and Eduventon Resendez of Houston; four brothers, Eloy Resendez of Pasadena, Erismo Resendez of San Antonio, Efrom Resendez of Austin and Eraldo Resendez of Lubbock; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A rosary was recited on Monday, July 26, at 7 p.m., at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, July 27, at 10 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church.

Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Reyes Resendez, Pete Resendez, John Leo Resendez, Erasmo Resendez, Erasmo Resendez Jr., and Mike Rodriguez.

Honorary pallbearers were Ron Krueger and Jack Fairshaw.
