BEEVILLE – Coastal Bend dug itself a 12-point halftime deficit and could never get out of it last week in Region XIV men’s basketball action.
CORPUS CHRISTI – The Beeville boys basketball team got its first win inside the traditionally unfriendly confines of West Oso’s gymnasium in four years last week.
GOLIAD – The Skidmore-Tynan Junior High eighth-grade purple girls basketball team finished off a perfect season with another victory over Goliad on Feb. 10.
MATHIS – Four Beeville Lady Trojan powerlifters won individual champions and the team claimed its first title of the year at Mathis Invitational last week.
KARNES CITY – Pettus’ Jolie Carrillo and Edna Herschberger and Goliad’s Viviana Hernandez won individual titles at the Karnes City Invitational powerlifting meet on Feb. 8.
SKIDMORE – A 41-point first half by the host Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats helped them down the Goliad Tigers in District 29-3A play at the DuBose Special Events Center last week.
SAN ANTONIO – After a pair of second-place finishes and a third-place finish, Beeville’s AD Patton finally broke through and won a powerlifting gold medal for the Trojans.
ODEM –The Skidmore-Tynan Junior High girls basketball purple teams both claimed wins over Odem last week.
BEEVILLE – A.C. Jones seniors Kamaria Gipson and Jared Silva made their college choices official last week, signing national letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at San Diego State University and Texas Lutheran University, respectively.
GALVESTON – The Coastal Bend baseball team started its 2020 campaign by going 2-1 at the Galveston College Invitational.
AUSTIN – To say that Beeville’s new football district is tough is, well, an understatement.
BEEVILLE – The Sinton Pirates walked into Marion B. Horton Gymnasium on Jan. 21 just a game back of Rockport-Fulton in the District 31-4A boys basketball standings.
