Pablo V. Perez, 103, of Beeville, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2018. at his home surrounded by family.
Mr. Perez was born June 22, 1915, to Atanacio and Jacinta Perez in Roma. He worked as a cook throughout his life, working 23 years at American Café, four years at NAS Chase Field and 15 years at Bee County College. His favorite pastime was gardening. He was also an avid sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 79 years, Carolina; an infant daughter, Feliz; daughter, Esther “Winche” Martinez; and a son, Davie Perez.
Survivors include his children, Arturo (Frances) Perez, Abran (Dalia) Perez and Pauline (Alfredo) Soliz, all of Lancaster, Rosa Ortiz of Beeville, Penny (Rich) Burns of Corpus Christi, Benny (Jane) Ortiz of Dallas and Eloisa (Inocencio) Robles and Cecilio (Janie) Ortiz, both of Victoria; daughter-in-law, Mickie Perez; a sister, Delia P. Rivas; three grandchildren which he helped raise, Dr. Allison Schaum, Michelle Martinez and Joe Martinez; 26 other grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with a rosary recited at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the church with Farther Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were Alfred Soliz, Brodie Soliz, Victor Ortiz Jr., Gabriel Perez, Adam Zamora, Joe Anthony Zamora and Jace Martinez.
