South Texas BBQ Emporium will host a Cookin’ Against COVID competition April 23-24. Entry fee is $150 and categories include chicken, pork, spare ribs and brisket. 50 teams competing. Jackpots: $25. IBCA sanctioned and rules apply.

The event will also have a silent auction and raffle that will benefit a recent kidney cancer survivor. The proceeds from the silent auction and jackpot categories will go toward helping to offset the medical expenses.
