Crime Stoppers awards scholarships to outstanding area high school grads

BEEVILLE – The board of directors of Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers has announced this year’s scholarship winners.

All recipients are graduating high school seniors.

A.C. Jones High School graduate Stephanie Del Bosque was the recipient this year of the Sheriff Carlos Carrizales Scholarship.

The graduate will be attending Sam Houston State University majoring in criminal justice.

Two applicants who are the daughters of peace officers also received scholarships this year.

They were Makayla Aguirre, a JHS graduate, and Adiana San Miguel, a graduate of Goliad High School.

Aguirre will be majoring in biomedical science at Texas A&M University in College Station, and San Miguel will major in communication sciences at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

The fourth recipient, George West High School graduate Kevin Harmon, also will be majoring in criminal justice when he starts at Del Mar College.
