To say the 29 AAA district track meet was a success would be an understatement, as the Tigers and Tigerettes of Goliad burned up the track against district competition, sweeping the event on the home track. Both teams now earned trips to the area meet, which will also be held in Goliad on April 15.
The pros came to show at the Goliad County Fairgrounds March 19-21, as the PRCA Rodeo held a rodeo event on the weekend of the county’s fair and livestock show. PRCA stars competed in six grueling events, taking home thousands in cash earnings.
Mollee Henicke proved her worth over the past four years, becoming a sensation on the volleyball court during her time with the Tigerettes. The Goliad senior also proved that dreams come true for those willing to put in the work.
Goliad seniors Karleigh Hill and Mollee Henicke collected more honors last week when they were named to the all-state tournament team following the team’s showing in the 3A state championship.
Goliad’s Karleigh Hill and Mollee Henicke led the Tigerettes to a state runner-up finish and yet another district championship this year, so it’s only fitting that the duo would share the top honors in District 29-3A.
