With $11,000 on the line, Professional Bull Riders (PBR) brought the Touring Pro division to the Goliad fairgrounds Aug. 14. The event was sponsored by the Goliad County Go Texan organization.
Six members of the Goliad High School FFA Shotgun Team competed in the TPWD Ag Clays State FFA Shotgun Championship held June 6 to June 8 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio.
The steward of Goliad High School track and field, coach Stacy Zamzow, is only weeks removed from an incredible 2021 spring season. His Tigerettes finished second in the state in Austin, and two of his offspring left the meet with championship gold.
The Goliad Rifle teams competed in Beeville’s District 11 Match on Friday and Saturday, March 12 and 13. All of the competitors placed in the top 15 in each division.
To say the 29 AAA district track meet was a success would be an understatement, as the Tigers and Tigerettes of Goliad burned up the track against district competition, sweeping the event on the home track. Both teams now earned trips to the area meet, which will also be held in Goliad on April 15.
The pros came to show at the Goliad County Fairgrounds March 19-21, as the PRCA Rodeo held a rodeo event on the weekend of the county’s fair and livestock show. PRCA stars competed in six grueling events, taking home thousands in cash earnings.
