Murder trial: Jury finds Reyna not guilty

KARNES CITY – A man accused in a 2012 stabbing death here has been acquitted by a Karnes County Jury.

The verdict came in shortly after 3 p.m. Friday following the week-long trial of Jeffrey Reyna. He stood accused of stabbing a man to death Aug. 25, 2012, at Bartonic in Karnes City.

The trial was fraught with missteps for the prosecution after several witnesses recanted their statements on the stand, and a DNA expert testified Reyna's DNA was not found on the murder weapon.
