KENEDY – Police made four arrests in Oct. 24 connection with what they say was drug dealing here in town.

The arrests were made after an officer initiated a traffic stop some time after 8 p.m. that day, according to Kenedy interim Police Chief Chris Bratton.

A vehicle traveling near the intersection of Goliad and Pettus streets was stopped and the officer noted one of the vehicle’s occupants had a warrant for his arrest.

“One of the people had a warrant and part of the meth was in plain view once he got out of the car. Then the officer went in and searched and found the rest of it,” Bratton explained.

Between a quarter ounce and a half ounce of methamphetamine was found in the vehicle, he added.

“It was mostly crystal meth. There was a meth pipe in there as well and (evidence) consistent with multiple baggies in the car. They were probably also providing it in some way to other people,” Bratton said.

Each of the vehicle’s occupants were charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.

Arrested were 36-year-old Kenedy resident Roxanne May, 19-year-old Karnes City resident Trisha Urrutia, 29-year-old Port Lavaca resident Ray Ramirez and 24-year-old Darren Haughton of Houston.
