TRTA book project visits Sinton head start

On Nov. 18, the San Patricio County Retired Teacher Association again donated books into the hands of San Patricio County children. On a rotational basis within the county, this year 76 Sinton Head Start Discovery Program students received a variety of books and bookworm markers made by secretary Ruth Kramer. Also receiving books and bookworms in Sinton, and for the group’s 2019 book drive, were 140 Welder Elementary School second graders. Pictured delivering these books to the School Librarian, Sylvia Casanova, is book chair and 2nd Vice President Diane Brady. In total, the retired teachers living within San Patricio County were happy to donate 216 “adventures between covers” books to county learners. Next year, the book rotation moves onto Taft.
