PORTLAND – With all the talk of revitalizing the Old Town portion of Portland, there is one place located in that area that has been thriving since it opened in 1979.
SINTON – Lillibeth Martinez has always had her eye on pageantry. From the crowns to the dresses, she adores it all. Her love of pageantry will be taking her way to Florida in February for the 2020 Miss Celebrations USA Nationals competition.
CORPUS CHRISTI – While watching KIII-TV in the mornings before school, Leslie Adami would dream of sitting in that news anchor spot and giving her report of the local news. She made that dream a reality on Sept. 30 when she debuted as the new KIII-TV evening anchor.
NIXON – “You’re never too old for a third time around, especially when you have a son like mine.” At least that’s what St. Paul resident Melvin Bartz’s philosophy is. The 92 1/2-year-old Sinton area native brought down a 11-point buck on the old home place outside of Nixon on Dec. 29, 2019.

PORTLAND – Kids can ring in the new year with the annual “Kids New Year Celebration” that will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31. There will be snacks and a festive countdown to 2020. The celebration will include Touch-A-Truck, sponsored by the City of Portland’s Public Works Department.
