SINTON – Another arrest has been made in connection with the body of Alfredo Vasquez, 27, which was recovered in a creek on County Road 2004 near Portland.
According to the San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office, Vincent Loya Beltran Jr. was arrested on Odom Street in Corpus Christi Tuesday afternoon by U.S. marshals and charged with aggravated robbery in connection with a home invasion which occurred in Ingleside a few weeks back.
On May 23, Belynda Nadine Pena Garcia, 29, also was charged with aggravated robbery related to the home invasion.
According to the sheriff’s office, digital evidence processed along with DNA evidence show a relationship between the home invasion robbery and the body found floating in a creek.
The office also recovered a vehicle they believe was used in the home invasion and said their forensic investigators are in Austin processing the vehicle.
The sheriff’s office stated that a silver car in their custody was apparently used when the body was dumped near Portland.
Investigators from San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office along with Ingleside Police Department are working with the U.S. Marshal’s Office to locate one other suspect involved in the crime.
