Edward Quintanilla

Edward Quintanilla, 61, passed away peacefully at his home on May 6, 2019 with his family by his side.

Edward was born March 10, 1958 in Three Rivers, Texas to Florentino G. and Carolina L. Quintanilla.

He was employed by the Texas Highway Department in George West for 20 years. He worked for Maurice and Margaret Sorrells at the Three Rivers Jr. Mart for 10+ years where he enjoyed meeting new people. He had many jobs throughout his life, but his most favorite was providing care for the elderly, this was his calling, his passion. His love for the elderly was one of a kind, he had a way of cheering anyone up with his funny jokes, sayings and contagious laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Billy Griffith; and nephew Patrick Griffith.

Edward is survived by a brother, Richard (Linda) Quintanilla; sister Dalia “Dolly” Ramirez of Three Rivers. Along with numerous nephews and nieces.

The family is so grateful for the care, love and friendship given to Edward by his wonderful neighbors and many friends. We are also thankful for the services and care provided by the staff of New Century Hospice and the comfort provided to the family by the staff of Heart of Texas Cremation of San Antonio.

Edward’s wishes were to be cremated and a private service.
